About – Yoube Jewellery

“It all began with my grandfather…” says Aakash. “A pioneer and well known name in the Indian diamond industry, a visionary, a pillar of ethics and integrity and an epitome of values. It was him, Mr. Umrawmal Barmecha, who, departing from just trading diamonds pursued his passion for jewellery design and made a humble beginning ifrom a 600 square feet office located in the jewellery district of Mumbai, Hughes Road.

He began doing niche work for family and friends, intricately working with a team of four artisans. The word of his appealing designs, quality workmanship and competitive pricing spread fast and led to an increase in workforce as well the time he had to devote to satiate the growing patronage.

Since then there was no looking back.”

Yoube Jewellery was established in 1990, as Mr. Umrawmal was joined by his son Mr. Ashok Barmecha who juggled between diamond trading and further developing his fathers dream. The clientele no longer remained restricted to just friends and family, it extended to affluent families, Bollywood/Tollywood celebrities and leading jewellers. It reached out to Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Chennai, Chandigarh and other cities by means of private and group roadshows.

In the year 2006, Mr. Aakash Barmecha joined the business as a young apprentice, fired by a dream to catalyse the age-old values and processes set by his grandfather. After learning jewellery design and technology from IIGJ, he trained himself for a year in a European exports based manufacturing unit as a qualified artisan and finally pursued gemology at the prestigious Gemological Institute of America to be a graduate gemologist.

Equipped with the technical know how and experience, he setup a 2000 square feet, fully integrated, state-of-the-art manufacturing unit in the industrial area of Lower Parel in Mumbai. Further strengthening the arms of Yoube Jewellery, which was then capable of more stringent control on quality and able to deliver jewellery that was perfected by both computers and skilled hands.

Today, Yoube Jewellery has become one of the leading manufacturers and wholesalers of diamonds and designer diamond jewellery. Maintaining its heritage of being a family owned business, a team of over 50 hard-working, dedicated and creative professionals make sure you receive and experience an unparalleled product and service.

Yoube jewellery is conveniently nestled in South Bombay’s Lower Parel. A unique setup spread over 8000 square feet, which includes an innovative design studio, a state-of-the-art manufacturing unit and a luxurious boutique. A visit to this charming and private place promises an elite, luxurious and bespoke jewellery shopping experience.

“Over the years we have questioned ourselves on the secret of our success and what has helped in getting our client’s patronage consistently. We believe its basis is integrity, ethics and values. A profound understanding of our customers needs, a commitment to quality and our teams expertise in creating and delivering fine jewellery pieces that become timeless symbols of connection that join individuals and generations.” states Ashok.

After a journey of five decades of one mans passion and obsession, Yoube Jewellery has evolved into something much greater and has touched the lives and hearts of many.

…and if you were wondering, the name ‘Yoube’ was derived from the initials of it’s founder, Mr. Umrawmal Barmecha.
