The record-breaking play Yugpurush commemorated 1st Anniversary of SRODP

To commemorate the first anniversary of their mega love-in-action project, Shrimad RajchandraOrgan Donation Programme (SRODP),staged the 150th show of the acclaimed play, Yugpurush – Mahatma Ke Mahatmaat Tejpal Auditorium in South Mumbai.

 

What better way to celebrate the spirit of love than to get together on the festival of love to watch a play on Ahimsa – the true form of love and acknowledging the heroes who support the cause of organ donation – an expression of love. The 150th show witnessed the presence of organ donors, organ pledgers, organ recipients, organ transplant surgeons and police officials who enable speedy organ transport to patients and organisations by providing green corridors as well as volunteers supporting the Organ Donation movement. Various individuals and organisations who have been instrumental in furthering the cause of Organ Donation were felicitated.

 

Among the esteemed dignitaries who attended the show were Dr. Pravin Shingare- Director, Directorate of Medical Education & Research, Shri. Krishna Prakash- Special Inspector General of Police, Shri. ManojLohiya- Additional Commissioner of Police, Eastern Region, Dr. AvinashSupe – Medical Director of KEM Hospital & Director of Medical education and major hospitals and NOTTO representative, Dr. G.B Davar- President of ZTCC, Dr. S.K. Mathur- Renowned liver transplant surgeon, vice-president and secretary of ZTCC, Shri.RadheshyamMopalwar- MD of MSRDC, Shri. Satish Soni- Director, Maharashtra Development of Tourism Corp. Shri. Vinay Kumar Awate- Chief Coordinator of Organ Donation, Maharashtra, Shri Jashwant Mehta and Shri. QureshMaskati- Trustees of Eye-Bank Coordination and Research Center, Dr. P.M. Bhujang- Medical Director of Sir H.N. reliance Hospital andPadmashreePenaz Masani- renowned Indian Ghazal singer.

The SRODP was launched last year on Valentine’s Day and was inspired by the Founder of SRMD PujyaGurudevshriRakeshbhai, in the loving memory of 7-year-old DeyaanUdani who donated his organs posthumously, giving life to four persons and vision to two.Theprogramme aims to bring about a positive change to the current transplant scenario by inspiring people to pledge for organ donation after their death and bridge the huge gap between need and availability of organs!

In just one year, through presentations made almost daily, the noble message of SRODP was shared with millions from all walks of life and over 15,000 people across the globe have signed up to pledge their organs. SRMD hadalso been invited by NOTTO (National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation) to participate in the Collaborative Conference for Organ Donation.

 

On the occasion of Valentine’s day, true message of love was spread by organizing the 150th show of the play, ‘Yugpurush – Mahatma ke Mahatma’. The play is an eye-opening drama depicting the life and message of two profound personalities from history, Mahatma Gandhi and his spiritual mentor Shrimad Rajchandraji.

 

The captivating play ‘Yugpurush’ has touched myriad audiences from diverse backgrounds such as corporates, NGOs, social workers, army, politicians, government officials, industry professionals, theatre artists and students.

 

On viewing the play, immensely inspired by Shrimadji’s teachings, the audience applauded the impact they made onGandhiji while also expressing appreciation for bringing these two causes together in such a unique way.
