The 16th edition of prestigious Transmedia Gujarati Screen and Stage Awards organized by Transmedia Software Ltd. was held in Mumbai recently.
At the star-studded awards ceremony, the much-acclaimed play, ‘Yugpurush – Mahatma na Mahatma’ was nominated under the following four categories – Best Drama – Mumbai Drama, Best Writer – Mumbai Drama, Best Director – Mumbai Drama and Best Actor in a Supporting Role – Mumbai Drama.
Of the four nominations, ‘Yugpurush – Mahatma na Mahatma’ won awards for
•Best Drama – Mumbai Drama – Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur,
•Best Director – Mumbai Drama – Rajesh Joshi and
•Best Actor in a Supporting Role – Mumbai Drama – Pulkit Solanki who expertly played the role of the young Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi,
Thus proving a stellar win for this noteworthy play.
The play – ‘Yugpurush – Mahatma Na Mahatma’ has completed more than 150 successful shows in just 3 months,winning hearts of diverse audiences and touring the globe to inspire people to walk the path of love and ahimsa.
‘Yugpurush- Mahatma’s Mahatma’ is notable in its own right. It is an inspirational and riveting portrayal of the close association between Mahatma Gandhi and his spiritual mentor Shrimad Rajchandraji. What began as a sincere friendship, culminated in Gandhjii’s proclamation of Shrimadji as his spiritual mentor. The play invites the audience to journey through Gandhiji’s internal and overt advancements on the spiritual path following interactions, letters and inspiration from Shrimad Rajchandraji.
