Here are a few basic tips (dos & don’ts) you as pet owners can keep in mind while travelling with your furry friends:
- Pets travel kit –
Your pet’s hygiene & care is important as road trips can actually make situations get out of hands at times. Grooming supplies, pet bowl, plastic bags, drinking water, pet toys, etc. are all essential supplies that your best friend needs!
- Pet-friendly stay –
While booking your road trip or stay make sure that the lodges or hotels are pet friendly. Before boarding or checking-in, make sure that you’re well aware of amenities offered by the lodge to avoid any inconvenience to your four-legged friend!
- Safety –
Safety comes first and it needs to be considered while travelling with your pooches.Try not to let your pet stick their head out of the window as strong winds can be harmful for your pups eyes and ears. At all costs keep the pet seat-belt on as a precaution against bumpy & dangerous Ghat roads; or you can also keep your pets in a well-ventilated carrier to make sure that they’re out of harm’s way.
- Medication –
In case of an emergency, make sure you keep a pet first aid-kit at handy as this will help save any unfortunate situation.Additional help would be being informed about vet clinics around the destination or on the way. You needn’t carry medical records unless absolutely necessary.
- Security–
For security reasons, always carry a recent picture of your dogas it may be helpful if your dog suddenly goes missing. Most importantly, remember thatit’s never a good idea to leave your pet alone in a parked vehicle.
Keeping these tips in mind will not only make road tripping fun & relaxingfor you but also for your darling pets. So what are you waiting for? GO ROADTRIPPING!
